Professional Career

My research career spans several notable European institutions, moving from foundational molecular biology and cell biology into systems biology, synthetic biology and industrial technical leadership:

Independent Scientist & Educator (current): I help professionals advance their career and help students improve their academic performance.
Almac Group (2021-2022): Technical Leader: I designed and developed advanced methods and techniques in molecular biology for biocatalytic applications.
Queens University Belfast (2021): Research Fellow: I assisted Dr Fuquan Liu to select effective scFv antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, the pathogen of COVID-19, using the phage-display technique.
University of Kent (2015–2020): Principle investigator as an Eastern ARC Research Fellow. I conducted independent research, teaching administrative duties, and coordinate inter-institutional projects between three universities. My research target was to bridge cell biology and molecular systems biology to establish a synthetic, protein based framework for quantitative cell biology.
University of Basel and University of Zurich (2010–2015): Post-doctoral researcher: I assisted Prof Attila Becskei researching on cellular memory based on transcriptional feedback systems with using both cellular and computational models.
Max Planck Institute for Experimental Medicine (2006–2010): Under the supervision of Prof Mikael Simons, my PhD thesis was on biogenesis of exosomes, extracellular vesicles that play important rules in intercellular communication and valuable target in cancer diagnosis and treatment
National Taiwan University (2004): I began my early research career as a research assistant in the lab of Prof Chu-Yung Lin, Department of Botany.
